Florida Hospital Altamonte

Florida Hospital is one of America’s largest hospital systems.   The 1,813 bed, seven-hospital system admits more patients annually than any other hospital in the US, and is the nation's largest provider of Medicare services.

Florida Hospital Altamonte (FHA) offers a comprehensive Cancer Institute, a dedicated Outpatient Surgery Center, and an Orthopaedic Institute.  As part of a nationally recognized cardiac center, FHA offers two state-of-the-art catheterization labs and an accredited Chest Pain Center. FHA has digestive health services, maternity, advanced diagnostic imaging (including 4-D ultrasound) and an accredited Stroke Center.

FHA is currently expanding with a new 6-story 83 bed patient tower, to be completed in 2007.  A 37 bed emergency department is scheduled to open in the fall of 2006.

Jbparadis J. Brian Paradis - Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Florida Hospital

Prior to becoming the EVP and COO of Florida Hospital, Brian served as the hospital’s Chief Financial Officer.   He has been with Florida Hospital since 1995 and has developed a particular expertise on the interaction of people and systems which is crucial to such a large organization. 

Brian graduated from Southern College with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration.  He also is a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Management Accountant.  Brian is active in his community, focusing his passion on children’s issues serving on the boards of Frontline Outreach and Family Services of Metro Orlando.

Rfulbright Rob Fulbright - Administrator, Florida Hospital Altamonte

Before becoming the Administrator for Florida Hospital Altamonte, Rob served as Administrator for FH-Deland and Senior Vice President for the FH-West Volusia Division.  He has also worked for FH-Orlando serving in administrative roles at the Orlando, Winter Park and Kissimmee campuses.  He began his career with the Adventist Health System in 1992.

Rob earned a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Tennessee State University.  He attended the Southern College of Seventh Day Adventists where he earned his Associate’s Degree in Accounting, and his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in marketing.

Jhillenmeyer John Hillenmeyer - President and Chief Executive Officer

Orlando Regional Healthcare System

Mr. Hillenmeyer has been the President and CEO of the Orlando Regional Healthcare System since 1997.  He came to ORHS in 1982 as Vice President of Operations of Sand Lake Hospital.  In 1987 he was appointed Executive Director of Orlando Regional Medical Center, and became responsible for ORHS’s six Central Florida hospitals in 1989.  Prior to his tenure at ORHS, Mr. Hillenmeyer worked in various administrative positions in the Greenville South Carolina Hospital System, and with American Medical International in Birmingham, Alabama, as well as in Orlando. 

Mr. Hillenmeyer earned a bachelor’s degree in BA from the University of Kentucky and a master’s degree in Health Care Administration from Duke University.  He is a diplomate of the American College of Health Care Executives, serves as Chairman of the Statutory Teaching Hospital Council, is a Past Chairman of the Florida Hospital Association Board, and is a member of the Executive Committee and Board of VHA-Southeast.  He is active in many civic organizations and currently serves on the boards of the Economic Development Commission of Mid-Florida, the Orlando Regional Chamber of Commerce, SunTrust Bank, Presbyterian Retirement Communities, and the UCF Foundation.

Sglazier Steve Glazier - President - South Seminole Hospital

Steve has been the President of Orlando Regional South Seminole Hospital since October 1999.  Prior to that he spent two years as Executive Director of Vencor Hospitals in the Tampa/St Pete area.  His past positions have included Vice President/Chief Operating Officer of Columbia Medical Center-Osceola, and Chief Executive Officer of Charter Behavioral Health System Orlando.  Steve received his BS from Georgia Southern College and his Masters of Business Administration from the University of North Florida. 

Steve is a current board member and past chairman of the Seminole County Regional Chamber of Commerce, and serves on the Board of Directors of Envision Seminole.  He previously served on the boards of the Seminole Family YMCA, Osceola United Way, Mental Health Association of Florida and the Mental Health Association of Jacksonville.

Mmckinnon Mary McKinnon - Chief Nursing Officer

Mary is the Chief Nursing Officer and Administrator of Patient Care at South Seminole Hospital.  She earned her Associate Degree in Nursing at Valencia Community College, her Bachelor Degree in Nursing from University of South Florida and her Masters in Business Administration from Nova Southeastern University.

Mary has been with South Seminole Hospital in various capacities since it’s opening in 1984.  Prior to this she served as Assistant Nursing Administrator at Seminole Memorial Hospital (now Central Florida Regional) and as Nursing Administrator at St. Cloud Hospital.

Mary is a graduate of Leadership Seminole and Leadership Orlando. She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing and is Board Certified in Nursing Administration, Advanced by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. Mary serves on the Board of Directors for the Orange County Central Receiving Center and the Center for Drug Free Living.

Bair Craig Bair - SSH/OH Marketing Director

Craig joined the hospital’s management team in 2008. He has over 20 years of experience in managing hospital public relations and marketing in several locations around Florida. He is a graduate of the University of Florida’s College of Public Relations, and a graduate of Leadership Seminole’s Class of 2002.

Craig is very active in community organizations. He sits on the Board of Directors for Envision Seminole and served as the new organization’s inaugural Chairman in 2003, when Leadership Seminole and Seminole Vision merged.  He has been active in The Foundation for Seminole County Public Schools, Rotary Club of Sanford, Seminole County Regional Chamber of Commerce, Sanford/Seminole Chamber of Commerce, Greater Oviedo Chamber of Commerce, American Cancer Society, American Heart Association, and the Helen Stairs Theatre.

In his free time Craig enjoys road biking, mountain biking, fishing, hunting, scuba diving, and boating. He is a native Floridian, born and raised in Leesburg. He resides in Sanford with his wife Pat and an assortment of pets.-

Central Florida Regional Hospital (CFRH) is a 226 bed hospital serving the residents of Seminole and West Volusia Counties.  It is located three miles east of the Seminole Towne Center mall on Highway 46. CFRH is committed to the care and improvement of human life. In recognition of this commitment, CFRH strives to deliver high quality, cost-effective healthcare in the communities that are served.

Specialized services at CFRH include: The Heart Institute (Cardiac Cath Labs, Electrophysiology Lab, Open Heart Surgery); The Neurohealth Sciences Center (CyberKnife);  The Baby Suites; Wound Care and Hyperbarics; a Sleep Lab; and a 24 Hour Emergency Department.

Future plans for 2006 include adding a 1.5 MRI, a 64 Slice CT Scanner, and new ENT Services.

Wendy H. Brandon- Chief Executive Officer

Wendy H. Brandon is the Chief Executive Officer of Central Florida Regional Hospital, located in Sanford, since September 2008.  She has worked for HCA for over 13 years with previous executive experience at Centennial and Summit Medical Centers in Nashville, Tennessee, and Englewood Community Hospital on Florida's West Coast from 2005 to present.  Wendy has a Masters in Business Administration from Belmont University (Nashville), and B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Tennessee.  Wendy's community involvement and civic activities include serving as Vice President of the Englewood-Cape Haze Chamber of Commerce; South County Family YMCA Board of Directors; Co-Chair for the American Heart Association Go Red for Women Luncheon.  She is a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives.  Wendy and her husband, Chuck, have a five year old son, Winn, and three year old daughter, Annabelle.

SCMS is extremely fortunate to be affiliated with a strong Florida Medical Association to look after our needs on the state level.  The FMA provides its over 17,000 members with a unified voice and excellent representation in state legislation, ethical and legal affairs, medical economics, and practice and medical issues.  The SCMS is proud of our close relationship with the FMA, and we urge all our members to get to know the superb individuals who make up the FMA’s administrative and physician leadership.

Swest Steve West, MD, President

Steve is practicing cardiologist in Fort Myers, and has been a member of Cardiology Consultants of Southwest Florida since 2004. He received his medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine in 1979, where he also completed his internship and residency.

Steve has served in various leadership positions with the FMA, including the Medical District Representative on the Board of Governors, FMA Executive Committee member, Florida Medical Foundation Board of Directors, Founding Member of the Abel S. Baldwin, MD Society, and Chair of the Council on Legislation. He is a Florida AMA Delegate and has served as President of FMA PAC. He is a past recipient of the Edward Annis, MD Award for Political Activism.

Tim_1 Tim Stapleton, FMA Executive Vice President

Tim was appointed as the FMA EVP in 2008.  He has more than 17 years of legislative and political experience.  Prior to joining the FMA, he worked for the AMA, the Medical Society of the State of New York, and as legislative director for the Illinois Attorney General.  Tim is a graduate of Indiana University with a B.A. in Political Science.
