SCMS Mission Statement:
The Seminole County Medical Society (SCMS) is a non-profit organization that represents over 230 physicians who reside or practice in Seminole County. The SCMS provides its physician members with a strong voice and active representation in local and state government, with regulatory agencies, and in community activities. SCMS serves as an advocate for patients and physicians in promoting public health and ensuring high standards in medical care, education and ethics.

2016 SCMS Officers:-
Victor graduated from Autonoma University of Guadalajara in 1979. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at University Hospital - SUNY in Syracuse, NY and his Fellowship in Endocrinology at the University of Miami Jackson. Victor currently practices Endocrinology, Diabetes, & Metabolism at Endocrine Associates of Florida, P.A. in Lake Mary, FL.
Dr. Dawson graduated from the Medical College of Virginia 1981. He completed his residency in Family Medicine at the Medical Center in Columbus, GA. Dr. Dawson currently practices Family Medicine with UCF Health in Orlando, FL.
David graduated from the Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine in 1977. He completed his residency in OB/GYN at St. Barnabas Medical Center in New Jersey. He has been a practicing OB/GYN in the Seminole County area for many years and is now retired.
Dr. Alvarado received his medical degree from the Colombian School of Medicine in 1989, later trained in Internal Medicine at Washington University in St. Louis, MO and earned his Fellowship in Infectious Disease at Tulane University in New Orleans, LA in 1997. Dr. Alvarado currently practice with Infectious Disease Consultants in Altamonte Springs, FL.
Dr. Bitar graduated from the Damascus Univeristy Medical School in 1981. He is board certified in Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Disease. Dr. Bitar currently practices Cardiology in Lake Mary, FL at the Cardiology Care Center.
Sara graduated from the Medical College of South Carolina in 1966. She completed her residency in Pathology at Baylor University Medical Center. She has been a volunteer and leader with the 4-H of Lake County for 21 years. Sara was a Pathologist with the District 9 Medical Examiner's Office and is currently retired, but spends most of her time volunteering in the community.
